- I can't vouch for Mftp1.31, but my experience with ftp varies on a day to day
- and site to site basis. Try pinging the site, for example. If the data has to
- go through lots of nodes then the transfers can be slow. With my server I
- get ping values between 250 ms to over 3000 ms, depending on loading on our
- systems. This will affect ftp rates too. I often get about 1200 cps ftp rates,
- though, which seems ok. It's a little hard for me to be sure just what my
- ftp throughput is, however, and what part of the system to blame.
